Introduction
QuickTime
VR is a fast-growing technology that allows to explore landscapes through
a 360° view in a very easy way. By means of this, the Web Team of
Bologna University proposes a virtual tour of Bologna, in its most famous
and suggestive places, to help you in studying new paths for visiting
our town. Of course one of the most important places in this virtual tour
will be the University, with its historical buildings and its study and
research places.
How to visit Bologna
1)
Select the zone you want to visit

Simply click on the corresponding element on the
map, or select an image from the list below.

2) Move around in the 360° video
|
|
|
Just
put your mouse pointer into the video on the right, keep the left
button clicked and move the mouse in the direction you want to
explore. You can find a green arrow on the map that rotates indicating
your current position.
The
video contains hot spots: clicking there you will be transported
to a contiguous zone; the bar below has a button to show hot spots,
and two buttons for zooming into the video. The zoom is also obtainable
through CTRL and SHIFT buttons.

Clicking
on the title above, a new window will display additional information
about the selected zone.

Start the virtual tour of Bologna
Requirements
Before
starting the virtual tour you should install QuickTime 4, freely
available from Apple web site.
N.B.:
Each video showing a city zone is approximatively 750 KBytes in size.
